Let's just say I can not believe that General Conference and Easter are next week but I am so excited! I love General Conference. This week at the Women's meeting I loved it because I applied Elder Bednar's advice don't write down what they say, write down revelation ( or more what you are going to do about what they say. ) It was amazing! This week I also looked through all of the talks from last Conference to see what I have learned and changed and man those messages are inspired! :) I would say some of the biggest things I learned were: the power of the Sacrament, the blessings of paying a generous fast offering, personal ministering, and taking care of our physical well-being. I can't wait to see what Heavenly Father has in store for us this weekend! Also I would love to hear which talks will become your favorite!
This week we started it in Portales! I will never be tired of going to that place. Every time we step in it I just feel happy. To be honest though it's super weird to go and visit the Ward people though because I just don't know them. Right now Sister T from New Zealand is there and I was her companion. And she is sooo cool, also she has the best eyebrows ever! Don't worry I picked up some tips! During companionship study we talked about the demands/resources that we face and have and honestly we could have built on those lists forever and ever and ever. Missionary work and life are stressful but what I know is that for every demand there is a resource and we can always stayed balanced. Also my favorite resource is the grace of Christ. The other thing that I love so much about Portales is that now we only go for 24 hours which for the work I could stay forever but I have this problem when I am there called YOIPO ( you're only in Portales once) and it always involves eating way to much of the most delicious food! This time the Pedrozas invited us over and we had delicious mole, which for the most part the mole I have had on my mission has not been good but this was delicious! I have missed tortillas! This week we also had interviews with President. I love him! I love Sister Heap! And I know I say that every week. And I will say it again next week and the week after because we get to see them again. This afternoon we are driving to Amarillo for Zone Conference tomorrow and then next week we have MLC. I can never get enough of them. And get this so Thursday were interviews but they stayed the night and so we all met up to go running at a park/play frisbee. Well all the other missionaries chose frisbee. And so it was just President and Sister Heap and I running. Those 3 miles I will never forget. It also reminded me of when we would go running/walking mom, are you ready to go again!? But interviews were amazing. Sometimes it's so easy to feel like you are not doing any good and working so hard. But after interviews with President it just helps me feel like my effort is for a reason. Keep praying for the Battles family. Elijah's mom is back at home but might be moving to California this week. Her husband and her fell back into drugs and he beat her almost to literal death this week. She finally decided that she had had enough and so she filed for divorce and wants to leave to get away from him. Right now the police are still searching for him and he is hiding pretty well. Elijah is doing well though, he is reading and his faith is strong! Also thanks for the prayers for Silka, her daughter who was coming later this month for her surgery decided to come early and so things are getting better there! We have a new investigator and she speaks Spanish! She contacted us. She has been taught before, always by sisters even the English sisters when they were here because her boyfriend doesn't want her to be taught by Elders. She is amazing, super busy, and going though hard times though so pray that the Book of Mormon will hold the answers Carolina needs and that she can come to General Conference!! Well there is more to write but no time, and so until next week!! xoxoxox Hermana Slade
