A Good One but a Short One.

Okay so let's talk about our week :) It was a good one.

It started a little slow and was shorted though because I got the flu on Monday and couldn't even move on Tuesday. Definitely the sickest I have gotten on the mission but it's behind us now and by Wednesday I was feeling mostly better. That night though the Zone Leaders needed some help and so we went to Fort Sumner to help empty the apartment there because that area got closed. Which was super cool because I have always wanted to see it! Where I really want to see is Tucumcari though because that is where the movie Cars is based off of. And so who ever makes a trip back to the mission with me (grandpa) we will get to check it out! On Wednesday we also got to see Sheila, who is now reading from the Book of Mormon because it is how she finds peace!! Wahoo!! With her it a process but it is coming and I love visiting her and Charlie. She is also prepping her garden this week and so hopefully she will let us help her plant it. I really want to plant a garden this year! And then harvest and eat the veggies! I love the law of the harvest! Our main focus this week has been Elijah and getting him ready for his baptism on Friday and it has been amazing. And now his mom Crystal wants to be baptized too, with her it will be a much longer process but by the end of May she should be ready :) It is incredible how the gospel blesses and changes families. Also Elijah's lessons are the funniest things ever! And he is incredible at remembering the 10 commandments with the little hand symbols that we do!

NMMI LDS Scripture Study continues to be a highlight of our week on Sundays. We teach need to know doctrine and usually watch a mormon message and it's just the best. And growing! This week one of the cadets brought 2 non-member friends!

The less-active work is amazing here! We are teaching Silka, who is the sweetest, she actually reminds me a lot of great-grandma Ball. She hasn't been feeling the best lately though if you could all pray for her. This week we went to the grocery store for her which is a huge deal because she is also as independent as grandma Ball :)

Other cool highlights:

-We had to get our windshield replaced this week. And so while we were waiting we treked downtown looking for tacos and talking to everyone, it was hilarious as restaurant after restaurant was just not quite what we wanted, too much tex-mex not enough of the good stuff, the real stuff, that has no cheese! -Phoebe, a little sister of a member that lives her went with us to a lesson about 3 months ago, well the lesson went great and she decided that she wanted to serve a mission to. Well this week via skype we got to watch her open her call, to Brazil!!! -Sister Nava told us yesterday that tomorrow when we go over for dinner she is going to make us albondigas! Yay!! Last time it was pasole and this time this, she always makes just what we are craving! :) Welp time is up! Until next week! xoxox Hna. Slade
