Okay so I will type as fast as I can because there is a lot to say, but unfortunately I'm a little slowed down by these wraps on my arms, but we'll get to the why of that later. We started this week with teaching Sunday, she is solid for a Tuesday at 5:00 lesson and we love it! Her lessons continue to be the most amazing spirit filled experience ever with her questions. We are super excited for tomorrow because we are going to go over all of her questions about the Plan of Salvation. Her husband is still very much a member of the Church of Christ, but she feels that they do not have the answers that she is searching for. We love Sunday!! Then on Wednesday to Thursday we went to Portales for exchanges, yipee!! I'm telling you I don't know what I will do when I am not longer to visit that place, which could happen after transfer calls this Saturday but we won't talk about that. Exchanges were amazing I was with Sister Laparra who goes home next Wednesday. I got to teach in Spanish and I loved it! Also we got to eat dinner with the Quintanas who are like mission parents to me :) Also getting to meet their daughter Karina who was on a mission the whole time I was there was surreal! She is so cool and was called as the YW President after being home for 1 week, that's right the Branch finally got their own YW program! That's the good news for the Branch, the sad news is that now the missionaries in Portales are over the Branch and the Ward and so their isn't quite enough time to see everyone every week but those sisters are amazing and working super hard! Also on Wednesday it was the 1 year mark that I met Sister Rocha and we were together and companions again. We call it our friend-a-versary I never would have thought we would be together again on February 25. I am so blessed!! To celebrate we went to the doctor together that morning ha but once again we will get back to that. This week on Saturday we helped with the Episcopal Church's pancake breakfast again, it was so fun I love the people there! And the questions about who we are and what we do keep flowing, give it 2 more times and we will be teaching the whole congregation, I have faith!! Also for service this week we helped deep clean a house! Our saying for this week is, "we don't always do service, but when we do it is always before 8:00am" Our miracle for this week is Elijah! He is Sister Battles' (a member with INCREDIBLE faith) grandson who is 7 but turns 8 in 16 days. Neither of his parents are members but they are supportive of him learning and getting baptized. And so we went over to teach him The Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ yesterday and he is soooo smart! Basically we asked questions and he taught the lesson, but for real! It went a little like this: "What is a prophet?" "Men called by God to teach the people so they can learn how to be happy and make God happy." "Do you read the Book of Mormon often?" "Pretty often, at least every night when I go to sleep?" "Who is Joseph Smith?" "The first prophet after a long time, he was lead to find gold plates so that he could write the Book of Mormon." Let's just say it was awesome and he is working toward March 20th for his baptism and is so excited for it bless and help his mom and dad to change. Okay so on Friday night we were able to go to BYU's Living Legends and it was incredible. Let's just say the Spirit and the realness of the Book of Mormon grew even that much more. I felt like I was literally watching the lamanitas and let's just say we could not get enough. But the best part of the whole thing was that Christian Hobb's grandma is in charge of it. So I was hoping that she would be there and I was hoping that I would get to say hi. And about 10 minutes before it started I saw her and she hugged me and I almost started bawling because it was exactly what I needed! A tender mercy of our Heavenly Father. Earlier that day we had gone back to the doctor get to our blood tests (Hna. Rocha and I) and my veins did not cooperate and so it hurt really bad. They just kept saying how tiny they were and how they would "evaporate" when they got the needle in, and so a hug from home was exactly what I needed! I love how Heavenly Father takes care of us! And so yes we had two doctors appointments last week and we have two this week but after that hopefully everything will be figured out. I love our doctor, she went to medical school in Mexico and is awesome and so nice! Also the whole staff is latinas so we fit right in!! I would like to stay another transfer, same doctor, same companions, so pray for that! Oh also during studies I was reading Romans 8:35-39 and I loved it!! Read it too! Love you!! xoxox Hna. Slade
