Okay family, so I don't have much time because we are trying to email as fast as we can so that we can leave for Lubbock. MLC was moved from last Friday to tomorrow because of weather which really is a tender mercy, because...today is P-day and if we hurry we can go to a few stores. I've got my sights set on OLD NAVY, it's been over 1 year!
So first, Happy New Year!! I hope you all set some goals for this year! My companion and I did and we decided it is SUPER scary when most of your goals are ones that will be accomplished at home and not on the mission, I'm not so sure how I feel about that, but I am excited for them! It's going to be a great year! I also was able to reflect on 2014 and man talk about a crazy, amazing year! Elder Wong said it best, "When we assist Him in His mission of saving souls, we too will be rescued in the process." That is exactly my feelings and my invitation to you, save souls, including your own!! Consecration and obedience are the hardest but my favorites! Paula is amazing, but sadly this week has been hard for her. Her bird that she has had for just under 20 years passed away. She says her heart is heavy but her faith is strong, so please pray for her and that her other bird Rico isn't affected by the other's death. Also pray that starting family history will go smoothly so we can go and do baptisms!! Oh and get this yesterday we went to her house and met Larry's niece's daugher Chelsea, and she wants to come to church this Sunday! So pray that her parents will be good with that! Speaking of parents, please pray that Juliana's parents will be okay with her learning more and more! We were able to teach her twice this week and both lessons were amazing, but then her mom cancelled our last appointment and she wasn't able to come to church because her mom had her do something else. She really opened up to us this week about how it is hard being the only one in her family that goes to church or ever cares about church. But she knows that it is true and makes her happy!! We did a TON of knocking this week and it was the best! I love knocking with Hna. Rocha and we used my lack of coat as a way to let people let us in in the freeeeezzzzzing 20 degree weather and it worked! We were able to meet the sweetest lady named Sunday, she for real seems like a Disney princess, when we left we were just like "was that even real life?" But anyway we go back on Thursday to teach her and are so excited!! We also were able to start teaching this less active named Hector this week and he is amazing! However he has some SUPER hard questions, but somehow we were able to answer them all. I felt myself learning stuff as I answered questions I didn't even know. Man I love how the Spirit knows everything!! Then yesterday we wrapped up our week getting to visit Sister Nava, who prefers Spanish but is in our ward so we got to speak in Spanish and man do I miss it!! But Roswell is awesome, I love it! This week we have exchanges in Carlsbad! xoxoxoxo Hna. Slade
