We are having a baptism on Saturday! Mario is getting baptized and we are thrilled! The first day Hna. Vance got her I had her pick a date of when we would have a baptize on or before, she picked the 13th of September. Then I said okay now let's work :) So we did and we fasted and we are having a baptism!! God is good! And here is more of the Mario story:
So about 4 months ago he got in a serious car accident in which he says he shouldn't have survived but he did. So he has been praying every day, for guidance, for direction, for answers, for something. Well the day we met him he had been praying when he thought to go for a walk outside. This is where we come in. We were riding and found him! And we have been teaching him everyday since! And he is awesome!!! He just really needs to find a job so that he can send money to his family back in Mexico, so pray for him!
Other thing to pray for is: us and our safety from dogs. I wish I was kidding but every day at least 3 GIANT dogs chase us. Ahh I wanna die. I carry my pepper spray. But we all know how I do dogs.. I don't.
The rest of our investigators are progressing quite like we wished they would, but with more prayers and faith they will or we will find other people who are prepared. Tomorrow is Zone Conference and I am so excited! I love President and Sister Heap! And they feed us lunch so of course I'm thrilled about that too! I've been having fun spending my birthday money a little here and there. This week I found a dress and I bought chocolate milk mix!! Yay my breakfasts are awesome now! And from the other week and my downey scentables my clothes smell fab! Oh yeah and I got a cow pillow pet for $5 :) Okay so besides dogs the other theme we saw was birthdays and passing-out. I'm sad to see birthday month leave but it was a good one. So there wasn't back-to-back Meagen + Mom birthdays. But there was back-to-back Hno. Quintana and Brenda's birthdays. I made cakes for both and they were good! A banana two layer one and a classic funfetti! I also bought Brenda this little pinata, it was soo cute and soo fun! We did service for them and Hermana Vance made the dinner..discada (a bunch of different meats)..and then she had to eat it! So this week we were trying a bunch of our different potentials and we were at Juan's and his son answered and we were talking and then all of a sudden bam he passed out right in front of me!! It was CRAZY! The family just closed the door and then we knocked again to see if we could help or something and no body would answer... One last story about passing out. So we were with this other potential Betty and we were teaching the Restoration and talking about miracles when all of a sudden she started to go into details about her miracle grandson and the birth and how he was born black/blue from lack of oxygen. And all this talk about veins and blood. And before you knew it I was about to pass out. But for real. I had to lean back on the couch and try not to draw attention to myself but I wanted to die. And the lady kept talking for like 40 minutes and my poor trainee has never been in a situation like this before so she didn't know how to end it. And I couldn't end it because if I did I would have had to stand up and then I would have for real dropped to the ground. So needless to say we were there forever hahaha. Better luck next time. Anyway things are great here! I love being a missionary! xoxo con amor, Hna. Slade Oh and I learned how to make fried ice cream yesterday and Dani and Brenda's!
