This week was great!! It still is very hot here!! And my allergies are very much a problem!! But the Benodryl helps.. and requires me to nap during my lunch and dinner hour. But we make it work :) Esta bien :) So if you have any ideas for allergies let me know!

This week our investigators are as great as ever! Antonio is a hoot!! Pray that he will listen more and talk a little less in our lessons. Oh and he gave us eggs from his chickens and chilis from his garden this week! So naturally the rest of the day I had to carry them around in my purse because if not they would go bad in the heat! Raquel left again... This time to El Paso, but she says on Friday she should be back. So pray she can stay in town this time. Jose and Soledad are very old and very sick but they want to come to church so bad. So please pray that they will be well enough. They fell asleep during our last lesson.. We also have two new investigators. Both we met while biking :) Their names and Maria and Sergio. Maria just moved here and so far she is liking the Book of Mormon :) Sergio is trying to be a good influence for his nephew that is 11 so they want to learn and come to church together!! Pray for both of them that they can read in the Book of Mormon! The Book of Mormon is the converting book!! I LOVE IT!! And lately almost none of our investigators can read which at first was a problem, but now maybe it is a blessing because that means that we read with them which means they are for sure reading!! Let's see about other stories this week: Oh we had interviews with President Heap!! I know that we are called to certain Mission Presidents!!! I love him and Sister Heap and get this he has Type 1 Diabetes!! Yes that is write!! During our interview we basically talked about diabetes and Kyle and he has a pump and says it is the best thing that ever happened to him!! He was skeptical at first but says it is amazing! He even runs his 1/2 marathons with it!! He said to look into the different types but that he now is in complete control of his life. He says he can fast if he wants, skip meals if he doesn't have time, eat a 3 course meal in the middle of the night. He loves it! Oh also this week I practiced all week during language to use my Milk Analogy with Antonio. About how we are the original milk with the cream and all the nutrients and the other milks (churches) are diluted etc. Anyway it went great!! It was a hit and he is still talking about it!! I challenged every else in the district to use it this week! It's the best thing since sliced bread!! We also learned in interviews that we are getting 2 Spanish sisters August 11th and then no more until after November. And this mission is getting iPads between September and December!!! This week Brenda made Flan for the first time and I ate it for the first time and it was good!! Hna. Melendez bought me a new skirt and it's cute, definitely a longer one for winter because it is very full which equals very hot. The Quintanas continue to be the best ever!! They buy us pan de dulce in Clovis every week and sent us home with bomb sandwiches for Sunday lunch. We are giving the Family Home Evening lesson for them tonight and then they are feeding us "Chilidrinas" it has picked pork skin on it I have heard, so we will see.. haha with Salsa Valentina I'm sure it will be good? Our other investigators were grinding their corn the whole time the were teaching the lesson. #spanishprobs I love the mission!! It is the best thing ever!! It is changing my life!!!! The Gospel changes lives!!!!! I am so lucky to get to share it with others!! xoxo con amor, Hermana Slade
