Red, WHITE, and Blue

This week was so good!! Unfortunately I don't have very much time to write, this man across the table started talking to me so I got started explaining the Book of Mormon to him. So I will try to type as much as fast as I can.
The 4th of July was the best!! We had to be home at 6:00 but we got invited by the Quintanas to a carne asade before! It was so good! Of course I made us dress in the right colors and it just so happened we turned out to be the stars & stripes too! So after we got home and did our nightly planning we started our BBQ with our grill we got to borrow :) We made our yummy food and played Mancala and were even in the perfect spot to watch the fireworks too! It was the best! Hna. Gonzalez now knows the way of roasted Starburts and Cheese Dogs :) Oh and I also made us sing "My Country Tis of Thee" for our morning hymn!
Besides the 4th of July, white really played a theme this week. As being white got me a club of haters. Here our investigators do not like white people, but I don't take it personal. Also my white face struck as I was talking to this person (in Spanish) and they said "But I don't speak English." So they I told them "That's okay, that's why I am speaking to you in Spanish right now." And they still said "I don't understand English." Yeah it happens...
We did find some awesome people this week though!! Alberto, so pray for him, pray that he can read in the Book of Mormon and that his boss will let him have Sundays off so he can come to church. We found him biking and almost missed him cuz we was hidden from sight but I saw him just out of the corner of my eye and had us go around the block to talk to him. God places people in our path!! Please also continue to pray for Raquel that she can find a way back into the country! Also Elder Christensen is in our district and last Monday he found out that his best friend died on the mission of a brain aneurysm, so if you could keep in your prayers as well.
This week someone brought over baked potatoes to our house and I about cried I was so happy! So naturally I bought some this week! I can't wait!! Also we have corn on the cob and lots of fruit because Super Saves had a great sale!! (7 peaches for $1, 7 nectarines for $1, and 5 corn on the cob for $1, 7 potatoes for $1, 7 apricots for $1, 7 plums for $1)
You get the idea :)We also got our hair cut this week. Our hairdress is from Mexico because the other lady really cut ours so crooked and the Mexican lady let us know! She was horrified at the un-evenness. So it is a bit shorter but it is straight :)
We get to meet our Mission President tomorrow and we are so excited!! I love it here! The gospel is what makes us happy! The scriptures have all the answers!! And the Atonement makes everything possible!! xoxo con amor, Hna. Slade
Line of the Week:
Hna. Del Angel: What can we do to avoid the bad shows on TV?
Hno. Nunez: Only watch the History Channel and Animal Planet!!
