So right as we speak I have chilis, grapes, cherries ( don't worry they were on sale for 1.99 a lb) corn on the cob, and my little patriotic lofthouse sugar cookies in my purse! We had to bring our big purses to smuggle in the goods so they wouldn't melt in the car. 4th of July will be a party!!
This week was super good though!! Super hot!! And it was bike week because we had to go to Roswell twice this month that took half of our monthly allotment for miles. That meant I even biked with my saws in my basket to go to Jose Luis' to do service. So the sweat was rolling this week with temperatures over 100 degrees. Even after 8:00. One day we did finally have to cave and get in the car because Hna. Gonzalez was dying... for real she couldn't even read in Spanish her native language.
Our investigators are doing great!! Lots are in Mexico though desafortunadamente. Pray they will return soon :) Right now we are focusing on Cesar, who has a fecha for the 12 of July! Just pray that we can see him with his work schedule on the dairy. Raquel we left to go to Mexico to secretly search for her brother. Pray that she can find a ride back, because she wasn't sure how she was going to get back, but she packed two bags of dry pinto beans for food and takis...so she shouldn't starve right? I hope she finds a place to cook her beans. She's hilarious and my favorite! And Lourdes. She was the one that was super offended and hates white people. Pray that she will come to church and look at me in the lessons :)
Besides that this week we met someone who spritzes there Dog with Justin Beiber perfume every day. I was asked if I was Mexican twice! I decorated my planner beautifully for 4th of July! Very patriotic! And planned us a bash of all bashes. The only thing is we don't have a grill. But the best members ever, the Quintanas, who are helping us make salsa again today said they could bring their giant grill over to our apartment for the night for us to use! They are the nicest! Theses are the same ones that drive us to our really far away appointments, come with us to lessons multiple times a week, and send us home with left overs because we can only eat at their house once a week. Oh and they buy us pan de dulce from the neighboring town, 40 minutes away. We love them!!! The other awesome members the Gutierrez returned from Mexico with candy, lots of candy for us! My new favorite flavor is tamarindo! Mexican candy is better!!
Oh we also got chased by a giant black dog this week! And someone flicked rocks on us with their truck on purpose while we were biking. Which did result in a crash, but we are good! Also children said in Spanish throw rocks at them! Good thing we know both languages and rode off swiftly! We love it here! We have so much fun! And are finding and teaching awesome people! We love being missionaries!!!! The church is true!
