Our Drought is Getting Cured Too!

So last week it rained and poured and flooded. Which helps because Portales is in a major drought. Well as a companionship we were in a drought too but this week it rained for us too! This was truly a week of miracles!! I know we are instruments in the Lord's hands to help his people! And I love it! This is the best time of my life!!
We have a new investigator named Jose Luis. He is a member referral from our member that has kidney failure! And he walks with us to the lessons even though he can barely walk! There is no excuse for not helping the work :) Then his friend is so old, so cute, so adorable, so fragile. We had to give him a large print BOM so he can see the words and he says it is sooo heavy but he reads it every night in bed :) I love Jose Luis!! We see him every day for 20 minutes because that is as long as he can do. But seriously he is adorable! All week he just wears the same clothes, I think it's too hard for him to change, but get this we went by his house on Sunday to see if he was awake and he was standing outside on his porch with his BOM in hand dressed in his best clothes complete with boots and a sombrero. I almost cried! He has a baptismal date for the 14th so pray for Jose Luis!!We met him on Wednesday, which turned out to be the best day ever!! We got 3 solid new investigators! 3 Member Presents! 2 Member Referrals! Which here is a miracle!! And then Hna. Chavez (less active/but more like an investigator) fed us Gorditas y Horchata!! By the way you know how we have lemonade stands when we are little, yeah she had a gordita stand when she was little haha. We blew her mind when we taught her that God and Jesus Christ are two different people... and she has been a member for 10 years.
Also speaking of food yesterday a member gave us a bag of frozen chilis for our sandwhiches during the week! And because the car said it was 113 degrees that is way to hot to leave in the car, I just carried them around in my purse all day! Oh need a BOM I got one, or do you need some chilis I've got you covered there too!
Our other most awesome new investigator is Polo. He is also old and a little fragile! But we love him! We wasn't able to come to church on Sunday because he was super ill so we had to change his baptism from the 14th to the 21st pero esta bien. Pray for him too! He said that the first time he met us he knew he was sent from God! And we heard from his neighbor, Thersea, (I'll explain more about her) that he was a heavy alcoholic and was basically drinking himself to death but since he has been talking to us he hasn't touched the stuff!! Miracles!!Okay Thersea. So we were at Polo's for his appointment but he wasn't home so we were waiting because we called and he said he was on his way. So we were waiting and I looked up and was like we need to go talk to that lady! So we did!! And she told us a couple of days later that she had seen us in the car and was really hoping that we would come and talk to her but she didn't know how to talk to us first. So anyway she is awesome!! She has a lot of problems going on in her life right now and I know we were supposed to find her when we did! She said that this week every time we call her is right when she is about to do something crazy that would get her sent to jail--mostly beating people up... I think. She says we are so persistent she cant even believe it but every time she hears our voice it makes her smile!! Unfortunately she doesn't not have a baptismal date yet because she smokes weed and we haven't asked her exactly when the last time was, because she has to wait at least 2 months after that. But we were definitely led to here!!I know that obedience and patience brings miracles!! It's hard when the work is slow and no one wants to help and you are trying to find more people and no one wants to listen but it teaches me so much!! And the miracles are flowing here!!
xoxo
con amor,
Hermana Slade
