I am promised at least one more transfer here in El Llano with Hna. Gonzalez and I am thrilled about it!! I'm not ready to say goodbye to my native or this area! I love both just too much. And then help my Spanish so much. This week I officially hit 4 months, and am no longer a "trainee." Crazy!!
P-day this week was bomb. We went to this thift shop and I found 2 new skirts and a new dress, a Mexican dress. And I wore it to give my talk in Sacrament meeting this week and all of the members loved it!! They were like I have one of those at home!! jajaja. The dress truely did work though because we had the most members every sign up to come out with us this week. Also on P-day I introduced my companion to "Bag Balm" and she loves it. She is hooked and puts it on all day, every day :) Food. This week we got fed quite a bit. One was by the people I told you I met on the street. When we got there it was fish. Fear Factor was on! And I ate it and didn't even cry :) We also learned that they meet at "Dawg House" at a midget fight jajaja. The people here :) We also got feed "discada" this week and it was soooo good. Our favorite members the Gutierrez made it. Hno. Gutierrez is hilarious, during Relief Society yesterday he had to pull us out of class to show us a youtube video of a cat saving a child's life cuz we told him we don't do cats. We also got invited to a birthday party this week also! And I'm telling you the food at the Birthday Parties are the best!! There Adam told us he needs to eat more candy because it is good for his health. There was also the chubbiest cutest little Spanish kid that looked just like Cancho from Nacho!! We have a new investigator--Lisa! She has a baptism date for June 7th because she has to get married first. She is super awesome and reads her Book of Mormon everyday but her struggle is waking up for church. So pray for her and pray for a wedding!! That seems to be every one's problem here, nobody is married and their boyfriends don't want to get married. Serving Spanish is my favorite!! The things that happen are hilarious!! Like when the STL's told us we had to make our own materials for family history to pass out because they only got English stuff in. Or when we stopped to fill up our water bottles at the Quintana's while biking and the little girl just kept saying "Barbie you have to speak English" when she was playing with her mom. Or this week one of our less-actives got a new car and so she asked if I could say a prayer to bless it, she made us go outside and stand right by the car with the door open so the prayer could go inside. Yeah I had to bite my lip while saying that one, so I wouldn't chuckle. I even had to pause, but Hna. Gonzalez said it seemed like a dramatic effect pause so esta bien :) Also we did service this week and we built a fence. And we measured and made the fence all straight. Then Hna. Melendez came outside and said no no no I want it crooked. This is for real. Oh one last story we got lost on our bikes this week and ended up halfway in between Clovis and Portales, we were just trying to ride back to the dealership to get our car that was getting fixed. So we called the Elders to tell us to turn left or right by looking at the map, cuz naturally ours was in our car. And they told us the only way was to go back the way we came. We biked it out! :) xoxo con amor, Hermana Slade Line of the Week: This kid started petting my arm. Kid: Ooooh it's so poufy! I like it!
