I Can Ride My Bike With No Handlebars

Or maybe I can ride my bike with one handlebar but that's still cool, right!? This week we finally got to start riding our bikes because Hna. Rocha's finally was fixed!! I love it!! We were riding to one our lessons + I was talking on the phone to the member that was meeting us there and someone in their lawn told Hna. Rocha, "Really, even on the phone on her bike!" This is God's work people jajaja. Oh also Johnathan said riding my bike I look like one of the girls off of The Brady Bunch. Is that a compliment or not?? But honestly I love riding my bike even more than driving the car. My bike is a smooth rider!

Really though I'm tired of driving all the time. I forgot how nice it is just to ride in the car. But when Sis. Stephens took us to Canadian this week it was heaven. Canadian is an hour away but it's in our area + we have one investigator there + it's the cutest town! Almost as cute as Preston..but not. On the ride there, there is a dinosaur high on a mountain top + metal cows in a line on the side of the road!

Also this week was super Mexican! Yay! I loved it!! Finally! Hna. Rocha taught me "sana, sana..." Which is what you say when children get hurt. And we had lots more Mexican food, from natives, my favorite being fresas con crema! And plenty of Spanish music. And our goal this week is to visit all of the Spanish less active!

Interviews with President were this week and I loved them! I really wish we got to see him more, but with being 3 and a half hours away that just doesn't really happen. But I bought this super super awesome Texas Lubbock Mission blanket that they sell. I'll send a picture!

This week we had exchanges and they were super good! They are done different here than other places because the mission is so huge. So both of the Sister Training Leaders come and stay with us for 24 hours + we just split + they basically watch us + help us lots. One thing I learned is that we are definitely where we are + with who we are for a reason. Certain missionaries for certain investigators at certain times.

Now let's talk about our peeps:

Johnathan is a boss new member! He comes to lessons with us! He bought a planner to be like us, he flashes every one his Book of Mormon, gives investigators rides to church. You name it he does it! He says he wants to get a bike so we can ride with us too hahaha.

Don is preparing for baptism on April 12th. shoutout for Kelsie's birthday he just needs to quit smoking. He has cut out coffee. Earlier this week he was doing half coffee/ half hot chocolate but now he has stopped that too! So please pray for him! He is just the sweetest. Today I bought him some paper so he can hopefully draw instead of smoke because he is an artist.

On Saturday we have a baptism for Illa so pray for her also! Everything looks good, we actually went over there this morning and she said yeah I want to get baptized this Saturday for sure, so we have the interview set. We just need to definitely stay in daily contact all week :) And her friends needs to not bring her frappes from McDonalds!

Things are awesome here! I'm dying I'm so excited for General Conference this weekend!! I've been handing out these invites we made to everyone!! So you be sure to watch too!

xoxo

con amor,

Hermana Slade

BTW: I eat grahams con frosting evreyday!

Line of the Week:

Hna. Rocha: I feel my calling is to turn you Mexican and if I fail at that I fail at life!
