Today was the bomb.com this + this whole week was the bomb.com!! Today we woke up at 5:45 to work out and I feel great about myself now jajaj. Also later today I dropped 114 pesos at the tienda and it feels good!

But seriously this week was so super awesome!! So much greatness happened so lets get to it! Also it's been 1 month already!! Dice Que!!!

Okay so last Thursday we left the walls of the CCM + let's just say the grass is NOT greener on the other side. But I loved every second of it. Mexico City has one of the most unfortunate smells. Ever. We went to the temple's visitor center. It was so cool! It was so nice and the technology was so great! And the Spirit was so strong! I bought a 20 pesos ring there + I love it. It turns my finger green however. It's a Spanish CTR ring so it says HLJ (Haz lo justo) or do the good. We would have gotten to do a session in the temple but it closed for renovations on Jan 4th. Bummer. On our way back the driving was CRAZY! When we stopped though we would buy bags of fruit from people from the inside of the bus. It is exactly like you picture Mexico to be.

Also Mexico is the bomb. Because I can buy a package of ritz crackers for 37 cents. An awesome lollipop for 7 cents + a drumstick for 1 dollar. Yes I eat + like ice cream here. One last treat story: we went to the vending machine because the tienda was closed, and I went to put my money in + there was already 20 pesos in it! So it wouldn't take my money. So I got a snack + turned in the leftover.

This whole week Hna. Hansen + I have been talking in English accents. Yes Spanish with English accents is hilarious + bloody dificil. Our companions do not let us talk in our baby accents though jaja. The only time I can get away with it is if when I say Kyle in a baby talk I say I'm saying cayó. We are basically like the same person. She also was the 1st nobody in her graduating class too and was upset about it jajaj. She + I both bruise during volleyball + wake up with matching weird scratches on our hands. Then this week I got her on "what are the odds" and so she had to wear my matching shirt that matches my skirt I wore that day.

Our teaching this week was awesome. One of my favorite things we did was when we had our investigator write down a question they had on a paper + then not show it to us + we would try to answer it. We taught the lesson + bore testimony of the Book of Mormon + that it contains all answers + shared a couple verses. He told us after that during the lesson he recieved revelation to his question! I love the BOM! Also one night I was kind of having a rough night, the elders marked in my scriptures, my nailpolish changes colors in this water + so does my hair. Anyway so it wasn't my best moment. So we went in to teach Renaldo and for the 1st time I was the missionary I pictured myself to be. I was friendly + conversational in Spanish!!

The games this week have been the bomb.com. Get this!! Someone asked me this week if I played volleyball before, like as in school. Also sometimes I even dive! Boom baby! But the best game this week we played is a new one. The girls in our district + 2 elders play it with us. We take turns having problems: depression, chastity, marriage probs, wanting to get baptized but family will disown us, WoW probs, anger, etc + do a scripture chase to find scriptures to help them with their problems in the BOM. It is SOOOO fun!!!

Okay so 1 more story before I get to the best part of the week. On tuesday Hna. Marsh came in + told me I wouldn't be able to shower because the water in our whole casa wasn't woryking. Can you say CRISIS! I almost died. So I said a prayer + decided to go to work. As in go outisde in my nightgown walk across the street at 6:15 + start knocking on the window of the other hermanas because I could hear running water. Well it's dark but she looks out the window, closes the curtain, + walks away! Dice Que!! Anyway so I figured I would come home and do my hair and go back later. RIght when I came back the water started working again. Work for the things you pray for + you will recieve. Even if you're the crazy walking around outside with no shoes + retainers. jajaja.

Okay so the best part of the week was Sunday because Elder Oaks was here!! 15 out of 7 billion people in the earth are prophets, seers, and revelators + I was sitting on row 2!!! I swear we made eye contact twice!! His message + dedicatory prayer we're amazing. I could hardly even write fast enough! He talked about the meaning of to dedicate something and how it means to set apart for a particular purpose. I was set-apart as a full-time missionary. The only full-tme callings in the church are missionaries + apostles This opportunity is incredible!! I love that I know exactly what I should be doing at all times.

Okay funny moment of the dedication. So beforehand we are singing hymns for when Elder Oaks arrived, so they open the door for him + we all stand + I was wearing my lace black skirt, yeah the zipper pops open!! And I'm trying to fix it before I go up there for the choir. But if you know this skirt you know how impossible that is!! So dad how do I fix it!!!??

One more thing Hna. Hansen + I were talking and she told me if you all read just 3 chapters a night every night together that I'm gone. You all can read the entire standard works. So you're a month late starting but if you pick up an extra chapter a night for 3 months you'll be back on schedule!

xoxo

con amor,

Hermana Slade

Line of the week:

After I bumped the volleyball and I probably should have set it.

Elder Neil: "You should learn how to set."

Me: "Nah..it's too hard."

Elder Neil: "If there's one thing I've learned from video games is that if you're not good at something that's the thing you need to work on + you just have to keep on practicing until you get it right."
