Fake It Till You Make It!

I made it!!! This week I finally have been feeling how I've been wanting to feel!! I literally love this work!! I love the CCM! I love studying! I love the devotionals! I love teaching! I love everything!!! The other weeks I felt it at times but now I feel it all day every day and I love it!! The church is true!!
My faking it till I made it work so I've just gotta stick to that plan when it comes to:
1) Por y para. Holy dang that stuff is hard!! Even our teacher had to look up in the back of the book to make sure he knew which one to use.. that's comforting huh jaja. But he promised us by the end of our missions we will know when to use which one. With Spanish in general my theory has been fake it till you make it and it's starting to pay off. Teaching isn't near as painful as it used to be. The other day we had a rockstar lesson our teacher/investigator even told us it was super good! And then he said but... okay that but is hilarious!! At the end of the lesson Hermana Dahl asked him how he felt about his baptism day coming up. Well she struggled finding the words and so I guess he thought she asked about Sundays. Well he says it's a good day, a day I can shop for my family. And I wasn't exactly sure what he said but comprar and compartir are super close. So me thinking he is talking about his baptism date and it being a good day to share with his family say si si si. Well yeah I just told him Sundays were a good day to shop.. my bad. Gotta fix that one..
2) Food. My tastebuds are dying because the food is getting much better. They served this pudding stuff that they served the first week I was here again. Well the first week I couldn't even take two bites I thought I was going to die. This week I ate the whole thing and kinda like it. Also I hate a Sour Patch Kid off of the ground one day because it looked tasty! Who knows how long it has been there but who cares :) And get this on Tuesday they served CAKE!!! Literally the best day ever!!!
3) The whole CCM had us fake and walk around over and over up and down the sidewalks to film for footage for the dedication this Sunday. Which I think might be broadcast so if it is definitely watch it!! I'm in the choir so you might even be able to see me!! I'm so excited for it!! + Elder Oaks is coming!!
4) I've been faking in lots in the sports department since I've gotten here but I've been getting good jajaja. I'm basically a hardcore volleyballer!! But it gives me killer bruises!! But Hermana Hansen lets me use her peppermint oil and it helps a ton!! Also finally this week my district figured out how to have fun and learn at the same time! So we had this little nerf soccer ball and we were throwing it around each saying the next word in a gospel sentence and they are teaching me how to catch with one hand! And we might have played softball once with it in our classroom with a notebook as a bat jajaja.
5) Today we went out in the world!! Like the other side of the 20 foot fence! I'll write lots more about it next week. But basically I had to just fake that I wasn't scared because earlier this week one of the speakers in the devotional was talking about the 1st time he got robbed, and the 1st time he got kidnapped. Implying there has been many more times. He says he has some beautiful robbery stories. I LOVE AMERICA!
Lots of other great things happened this week so I'm just gonna give a quick low down.
I got the coolest scriptures case + spanish CTR ring.
Watch the short video Enduring Love
I got on the scale and only gained 1 pound. So I'm gonna keep on eating!
This girl was doing pirouettes and she fell and me and Hermana Hansen both saw it and never have I laughed harder. But it wasn't a mean laugh don't worry.
I correctly identified 13 out of 16 temples in Utah.
I have Spring Fever hardcore!!
The weather has been beautiful + I've been wearing my spring clothes!
The tender mercies of the Lord are definitely with us as there was time for a nap this week!! Seriously probably the only time for the next 18 months I'll get one but it was so perfect!! It was during our normal time for service but when we showed up to fold the blankets they were already folded so they said we could just go do whatever. So of course Hermana Hansen and I seized the moment!
Here's a quote from my teacher this week:
"Metas sin trabajo son sueños.
Trabajo sin metas es esclavitud.
Metas con trabajos es exito."
xoxo
con amor,
Hermana Slade
