The HG are everywhere here!! Like seriously it's ridiculous how many things this week fit perfectly with the Hunger Games. The only difference is here we're not trying to kill each other..most of the time. But it is like we live in the arena. The fence is 20ft high and you can't leave. Unlike the arena I wanna be in!!! Our teacher, Hermano Flores, even told us to make our lessons like HG2. Leave them wanting more!!

The language is a killer. My understanding is improving lots but forming sentences is difficult! However in our lesson yesterday I wanted to share part of The Family: A Proclamation to the World and I didn't even think about the fact I only had it in English until I was in there and it was time to share it! Ahh! But I seriously translated it as I was reading it aloud. It's a miracle!! This week my favorite spanish word I learned was: venga aqui (come here). Also I love that no sey + idk rhyme. Tell Mr. Kunz that I + everyone else in my district love using the saying "This and these have t's, that and those don't" We do this thing called TALL which is language grammar learning on the computer daily. I love it because it helps a ton and I can sit back and use my belly for the mousepad. But one day I got 0 out of 6.. At the end of TALL when you log off it sings this song that sounds just like Rue's whistle on HG. So the elders in our District always whistle it. Oh also one of the sentences in TALL this week was, My family lives in the Capital. And yours?

So my district. We are district 15. Elder Cable reminds me exactly of Mr. Christensen, he even is hardcore into tennis too. On Sunday we were talking about keeping commandments and which ones were our favorite. And military Matt said "Thou Shalt Not Kill." Because sometimes he just imagines killing them and what it would be like without them and he asked us if we feel that way too. And he was dead serious. You should have seen his companion's face! jajajajajaj. Also Elder Newbold + I talked about Daddy and how awesome he is. He says dad is like another father figure to him. Daddy he loves you!

So is laughing therapy. Like when Hermana Hansen told me her cousin named his kid, Dragon Hunger. Or that time we were walking and Hermana Marsh's slip just fell off + was down at her ankles. I LOVE it here!!Really though I do LOVE it here. I love Mexico! Even though for service last Friday we were cleaning in the comedor + right after we got done wiping down where the garbage cans sit they had us, with the same rags, wipe down where the food is served. #immunesystembuilder.

I love being a missionary! I love wearing my nametag--except that day I forgot it and didn't realize until lunch. I love learning and feeling the Spirit all the time. I love reading my scriptures. But my English ones the pages started falling out! Wah!! I love the enabling power of the Atonement! This is real, most of the time we are here we do a lot of role playing but the things we teach are real! I love the Gospel!! And Prayer! I pray so much here + I love it!!

Our investigator Marcos from last week become our night teacher. I hate night classes! But he is hilarious.. too bad I can't remember his real name. To me he will forever be Marcos.

Okay so all during the day + night we hear these noises from the city that sound just like the cannons from HG giving the nightly death toll, but our teachers call them "fireworks".So sometimes I swear I hear my phone vibrate. Like no joke. But that brings me to my next story. Insta stalking at its finest!! So before I came one day I searched #sistermissionary and I found this one super cute girl that was leaving a week after me. Well on Sunday I glance up and there she is getting food! Say what!! I forgot she was coming here. It's social media but in real life!

Lets revisit the food here. It's such an adventure. I eat at least 3 apples a day. Weird huh cuz I never ate them at home. Oh also about apples one day in class I threw a marker + it hit Elder Adams'apple perfectly right in the middle. #katniss. We eat a lot of mystery meat, but if you put it in a tortilla it helps. They only have corn tortillas here but one night I dreamed I found flour tortillas in a secret hiding spot. Whatever. One time this week we ate Mexican tomato soup with noodles in it. Another time what I call Mexican hot pockets. On Sunday though we had instant mashed potatoes, some of the fakest tasting I've every had, but still potatoes for Sunday dinner!! Also I eat ice cream here. It's as close to American food as I can get. I even buy it at the tienda and eat it during gym time..

Gym time. Our new thing is we play kickball as a zone + get this! Yesterday I scored twice!! And, I learned this from Kyle so he better be proud, I was throwing the ball to get Hermana Poche--hardcore sports girl-- out + I anticipated where she would be not where she was and BOOM BABY I hit her!!! I love gym time so much because I get to wear pants and I love pants so much!!!!!

And finally as a zone we play this game where someone says something like, "What are the odds you will volunteer as tribute to give your talk in Sacrament meeting?" or "What are the odds you will as soon as someone you don't know finishes their milk you will grab the cup and fill it back up?"or "What are the odds you will knell to say your prayer in the comedor?" etc. etc. etc. Then the other person picks the odds like 1 out of 10 or 1 out of 17. Then on the count of 3 they both say a number and if they match you have to do the thing. I'm pretty good at it, the only things I've been matched on is running to the flagpole + back.

May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor.

xoxocon amor,

Hermana Slade
